finally set up my desk and computer in my room. i have been holding off, waiting to see how long it would take the roofers to come finish their shit. they came and tore up the balcony outside my sliding glass door, the molding around the sliding door, and are supposed to do some stuff to the roof. since they were doing things in my room anyway they decided that instead of using ladders outside to get up and down that they were going to walk up and down he stairs inside and through my room to get to the roof and make a huge mess on my floor. they haven't been back to finish in like a month. so i have a mess of plaster/drywall on my floor as well as dirt and roof mess. also, they had to take the curtains off the wall so they could redo the plaster around the door, so anyone in front of the house or on the street or across the street or next door can easily see into my room. who needs privacy anyway though, amirite?
anyway, i was tired of waiting for their asses and i set my shit up in the opposite side of the room from where i wanted to/where their mess is.
friday i am flying to new hampshire to visit my band for a week. it has been a good few months since i have seen the boys. it should be pretty fun.
in preparation for that, i will probably be back in orlando tomorrow until i leave (i am flying out of orlando). party time? yes. <3
it has been some time. i am living in sarasota mostly these days, due to school. ian and i just moved into our new place with a few others. there are 3 of us living here officially, 1 unofficially, and 2 temporarily (yet even more unofficially). the new house is pretty excellent. we have to be completely out of our old house by sunday, when we have a walkthrough and give the keys back to our landlord. as a matter of fact, we are about to go over there and do some cleaning RIGHT NOW!
after this moving business is all said and done, we (the roommates and i) are going to head to orlando for a few days and have a little orlando party time. then, i am headed to new hampshire to see my band for about a week. after crucial hang time with them, hopefully my girlfriend is still able to move in with us in sarasota. if she can, i will be driving to DC to pick her and the small amount of stuff she plans on bringing with her up and bring her down to sunny florida. then it is just hang time until school starts back up.
we just got internet at the new house today. i am excited. :D
man, yesterday was far too full of school. it was also full of not eating food, which made it even worse.
we had no food when i woke up at 8, so i went to class without eating. then i had chemistry, physics, and calculus until noon. then i had about an hour, so i went home to eat, completely forgetting we had no food. then i went to my physics lab from 1 to 5. then calculus workshop at 5. then i left calc workshop early so i could go take a physics test that lasted from 6 until 9. i was there the whole time, but i finished. then i went home, changed clothes, and went to the gym which was open for another hour. i was determined to do no more work for the rest of the evening.
today i have no classes. i do however have an NCSA meeting (new college student alliance) which (as an equipment ta) i am required to go to at 2:30. then i have to go buy food, since we still have none. then i have EQTA office hours from 5-7. then calculus TA session at 7. any free time in there is going to be spent on physics lab report.
so i am MIA on here recently. dunno if you noticed or cared much, but i apologize if you have. i am all up in this school business. i have homework and homework to do. calculus test on monday and i missed the first week of that class and i still don't have a book. also have chemistry, physics, and physics lab report to do. believe it or not, i actually want to do these things. learning is fun! however, there are other fun things that i want to do that tend to distract me. focus is key.
just got back from the chiropractor and i am feelin' fine. ^__^
i am about to head to sarasota to finish up a few last minute things with the school. hopefully while i am down there the lease for the house ian and me are going to rent will be done and i can take care of that while i am down there. if all goes according to plan, i should be moving august 1.

for those of you who did not know, after ibar wednesday i went home and had slight lower abdominal pain. i figured i would sleep it off and it would be gone in the morning. come morning time it was only worse. i went to the doctor who gave me a GI cocktail and some pills in case it was an acid problem. he also had me get blood work and schedule a sonogram. after that i went home and laid down, trying to not be in a perpetual state of searing pain. eventually it got so bad that i had my parents take me to the ER. at the ER, they gave me meds so i could actually be conscious without writhing in pain. they asked me a few questions and gave me a CT scan and then told me i had appendicitis. two hours later i was in the OR and had my appendix removed. i was in recovery for most of yesterday and am now back home with two small cuts on my belly that will be all but unrecognizable after a few days with neosporin usage. i am a tad sore, but no worse for the wear. i feel WAY better than i did yesterday. the doctor showed me pictures of it yesterday and he said "see that large white spot? that is where your appendix would have ruptured in about another 24 hours." i asked the anesthesiologist what causes appendicitis and he told me "nobody really knows. it just happens sometimes." once you feel the first symptoms, you have about 72 hours before rupturing. in conclusion, appendixes suck. they have no known use in the human body. everyone should have that time bomb removed unless you want to randomly experience a large amount of pain someday.
my cruise next week will be slightly less eventful as a result of my recovering from surgery simultaneously. c'est la vie. i still plan on having fun.
now all we need to do is find a way to travel at the speed of light, because then it would only take 20.5 years to get there. as of right now, the fastest vessel we have sent to space was the voyager II probe, at about 35,000 mph. at that speed, it would take 390,000 years. so...yeah...we need to go faster. :)
i was supposed to be leaving town tomorrow to fly to DC and visit my girl before going back on tour. due to circumstances beyond our control, this will not be happening. i am saddened by this, but there is nothing we can do. c'est la vie.
i will instead be flying to seattle on the 25th. i have a connecting flight in new york that 5 of the other boys will also be on. good times. we are touring for a good month and a half-ish. if we come anywhere near you, i highly recommend coming to see my boys play. you won't regret it.
i bought a harmonica the other day in cracker barrel. i am teaching myself to play it. ^__^
THIS WEEKEND STUFF got back from melbourne today. josh, rachel and i went out there this weekend. though it was a nice place to go, it was far too cold to actually go on the beach or in the water, so we just ended up eating some food and watching dvd's or driving about town looking for things to do. good times.
CONVENTION STUFF this coming weekend is MEGACON! woooo! last year was the first year since i knew about them that i missed both screamfest and megacon, due to my being in seattle at the time. i can't wait to get my fix of geekiness with the cool kids this weekend on our megacon adventure. also, our good friend lee the mightydog will be in attendance as a guest artist! go look at his webcomic, Wheelchair Romeo!
CAMPING STUFF the weekend following megacon is SGFL CAMPING! wooo! party time. i need to find my tent. if i cannot find my tent, i will have to purchase a new tent, since i have promised spots in my tent to multiple people and it would just be tragic for me to let them down. i am not in the business of letting people down. i SHALL have a tent for the camping trip. i look forward to it ever so much.
BAND STUFF looks like may is the magic month. come may, i will be back with the River City Rebels. dan is in the process of booking us a full US tour! whenever they get all the dates sorted out i will make sure to post them so that you kids can come visit me and the boys whenever we play a gig somewhere near your town. also, we will be selling copies of the rebels new album, which we finally had to just produce ourselves, since the label would not even contact us anymore. we are making our own copies of the mastered tracks and selling them at shows. buy some!
so i am officially back from vegas. it was pretty much awesome. i kind of wish we had more time to do stuff out there, but the first and last nights were spent flying in or out and one night we had a wedding to go to, so we really only had one night that was free for doing things. either way, we had a great time and i will post pictures when i get them from my girl.
my holiday was awesome. my girl was here on new years and i don't think it could have been much better. she is coming back down in about a week, on the 18th, for our trip to vegas! wooo!
i just finished watching the first season of 'Dexter'. for those of you who have not seen 'Dexter', i highly suggest checking it out (unless you catch it in syndication on showtime, it would most likely be illgally downloading it online, since the first season is over and it is not on dvd yet). also, you can get the books it is based on. the first one is called 'Darkly Dreaming Dexter' and is basically the first season from what the amazon description tells me. i take this to mean each book will be a season consecutively. i am gonna have to get reading, since the next season isn't slated to come out until later in 2007 sometime.
so i took the car in to the service place. found out that i have a perforation in a weld in my gas tank's filling tube or whatever it is called. the part where i put gas in. it is not leaking fuel but it is leaking fumes or something. so i need an entire new gas tank. that sucks. i think it would be more expensive if i replaced my engine. :P
anyways, i should finally be headed back to orlando tonight. my brother and i have to take the youngest brother shopping so he can buy something for my dad.
i can't wait for new years. maite is coming to see me. ^__^
i also can't wait for vegas in january. good times all around.
also, the "service engine soon" light is on in my car, so i probably won't be leaving sarasota until at least monday so i can get that checked out.
last night the cool kids started working up a new D&D game. i started working on a character. he is a neutral-good half-elf ranger. good times will ensue...around a table...for many hours. ^_^
it is shower time. then it is guitar hero time. later kids. <3
i got a bunch of pictures back from the framers today. this means i will be headed back out to the condo soon for cleaning and decorating purposes. i love it out there. i would totally stay there more often if there was anything close to it. the closest thing to it that isn't another condo or a national park is a subway like 5 minutes up the road. after that, there is a supermarket about 20 minutes up. 30 minutes to cocoa. so yeah, kind of desolate as far as a social life would go out there, but it is awesome none the less.
my friends carly and jason are getting married in january in vegas. my girlfriend and i are flying out for it. i have never been to vegas before. we'll be getting there the nigfht of january 18 and leaving the night of january 22. i think we are gonna try and see penn and teller or blue man group while we are there. we only have one night open for shows and stuff (we get in late on the 18th, 19th we have open, wedding is on the 20th, we leave the 21st), so we want to make sure we do something totally awesome. the entire wedding party is staying at the riviera, so that is where we are staying as well. i don't even know what else to write. i am excited. ^__^
